Behind the scenes

By Gabe – April 4, 2005

I got a lot of positive responses to the new CTS image I posted yesterday. My plan is to make this CTS image the next limited edition print and then use the pic I did of Gabe and Tycho on the subway for a new poster.

Old Friends

By Tycho – April 4, 2005

We met Geoff Zatkin when we were invited to speak at Digipen a while back. Being a person who plays a lot of videogames I'd created this image of a wizened "game designer" that was part shaman and part puppeteer, and to actually come into contact with one was intimidating. He's a nice enough guy, but when people asked us questions on the panel we would just spit up something offensive and he would respond with a series of extremely relevant statistics. To think that his art is committed largely in the tables of Excel, submerged in numbers and their relationships to one another is something that really humanized the process for me.

I drew this today, do you like it?

Liar's Day

By Tycho – April 1, 2005

April 1st and the succor mongrels receive thereby has ever been a source of perturbation. Game magazines, my erstwhile, informative friends the rest of the year are - during April - shot through with untruths and manipulative falsehoods. Certainly Gabriel finds such a miserable "holiday" tailor-made for his bullshit.

I hear your cries

By Gabe – March 30, 2005

So the mail I've been getting is telling me that you would rather the next limited edition print be of the CTS. What I am considering doing is using the drawing of Gabe and Tycho I posted yesterday for a new poster instead of the next print. I'm going to work on a CTS drawing this week, so hopefully I'll have something to show you soon.

New limited edition print

By Gabe – March 28, 2005

After the response to the last limited edition print we decided to try and do three of them a year. I think this will be the next one. The final print will be 18x24 from edge to edge including the mat board. The actually artwork itself will measure 12x18. Once again we'll be using the laser cutting process on mylar.

Luminous

By Tycho – March 25, 2005

Lumines belongs with every PSP purchase, but if you read gaming news at all you've seen the nearly universal worship. Today's comic is an exaggeration, of course - anyone who has played Lumines will tell you that it renders you incapable of speech.

Oops

By Gabe – March 23, 2005

In my earlier post I referred the neck breaking move the spies use in SC as the “Snappy Snap.” I apologize for the error. That particular move is actually called the “Chokie Roberts”.

Linkzors

By Gabe – March 23, 2005

I just have some links to share with you.

I, um...

By Tycho – March 23, 2005

I don't know what I could possibly add to that.

Splinter Cell:CT

By Gabe – March 23, 2005

We went to an event on Friday at Microsoft and had the opportunity to play around with Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. This game is so incredible that it honestly could be three separate games. In fact my guess is that we'll see the Splinter Cell brand broken up into solo and multiplayer games and sold separately very soon. God knows the individual components are strong enough to stand on their own.
