The first of three outsourced strips arrives today, courtesy of longtime friend of the site John Scalzi. When I say longtime friend, what I mean is that he gave us money at one point, which is the most direct route.
It's true. Gabriel has ensconced his family in flying steel and launched himself toward warmer climes, and he has left the rudder in my capable grip. In reality, a series of guest works from a rotating cast of professionals was his own idea. The conversation, though, is quite true. I don't know to what extent he is joking, I suspect it is at a threshold nearing a hundred percent, even though what I do here is essentially a condiment for his own work. My own son looks at me askance when I tell him writing is art, at which point his uncle Gabriel does his emperor laugh and swirls his cape.
Last night was the Child's Play Charity Dinner & Auction, which is always a blast, and has the additional benefit of being a generosity powerhouse. The total was at 1.53 million this year when we left for the Meydenbauer Center, and by the time I got home the dinner had raised three hundred and fifty thousand more.

I picked up a copy of Super Dungeon Explore a few days ago and I’m here to tell you this game is hot! It’s not cheap though and so I wanted to break down some of my feelings about the game for you guys.

He's working from home today, so I just went over to his computer and commenced with the textual healing. I wasn't made to debase myself! What an incredible change of pace.
There is a Typo (which Gabriel calls a "Tychpo") in the strip, which Gabriel is refusing to fix because I must "learn." It is philosophically of a piece with grinding a pet's nose into the fibers of a fouled carpet. I will see what kind of genuflections are required to make the comic whole.

I started playing table top RPG's with D&D 4e. My group was also almost entirely composed of players new to D&D. We learned with 4e and so I think it has a special place in our hearts. Our game ran for about three years and I chronicled a lot of it here on the site. As time went on and I got more comfortable with the rules I started doing some pretty crazy shit.
