You have almost certainly absorbed the now well-known saga of CrunkBear. The Twitter account that undid her was, to hear her tell it, a "parody" but it's not entirely clear what it was a parody of, unless it was a commentary on how you can fuck your life up when you forget that there is only one Internet.

Moon and Source Code are both really good movies, but they don't have any orcs in them, so it's not super clear to me what makes Duncan Jones "the guy" to direct a World of Warcraft film other than the fact that he said it was possible to actually do it. That seems like a prerequisite to me I guess, but I am not well versed in Hollywood ritual! In any event, provided they execute it exactly as we describe, it should be a fairly straightforward process.

I don't know if any of them were featured on Vinepeek, but Gabriel distilled and presented a sequence of these "vines" to catalogue the creation of the strip - a strip which you can see here. I don't really see myself as a... vintner, or whatever, I don't think I'm going to be broadcasting my life six seconds at a time. But I am absolutely a fan of Vinepeek, which is like a wondrous nickelodeon full of tiny players.

Bans are a public relations coup; the more public they are, the more efficacious. People love to see the hammer come down. Unless you look up and see it yourself, o'erhead, you feel safer knowing that the placid, featureless face of this hammer is elsewhere, even for a moment. It is happening all the time, but it's become a source of headlines now for a glutted news edifice, so we "know." That's how we found out about three especially high-profile bans, considered how a just society should corral them, and then made comic about it sort of but not really.

I sat down to watch King of the Nerds last week fully intending to hate it. In fact the only reason I watched it was because I figured we could get a good comic out of how horrible it was. Boy was I surprised when I actually liked it.
