Gabriel asked me if there'd ever been a reversal like what we'd seen on the Xbox One, and I suggested Exodus International was kind of a biggie, which took a long time to explain. Something more people are probably aware of would be the saga of New Coke.

Twitter is not great for actually having conversations. Sometimes I get shit on twitter from people and rather than try and have a discussion with them I make sarcastic remarks. Yay for coping mechanisms! But what does it look like when you actually do have a conversation with someone you care about? Well I had this email exchange this morning with my friend Sophie and she said it was okay to post it. I think it's interesting to see what can happen when you take something off Twitter and actually talk.

I spent the weekend traveling to, attending, and subsequently leaving a funeral, so opportunities to play The Last of Us were pretty thin on the ground. The most time I spent with a computer of any kind all weekend was fixing one, like every other nerd who visits their in-laws. Would you believe that the family machine in their office had fully three virus scanners running at once? They were scanning each others' virus scans. It ran like there was a tiny person inside of it twiddling knobs here and there, and the entire computer was full of little stairs.

Capcom asked us if we wanted to do that, and obviously we did. We used to break out the copy we had for the Saturn every now and then, but having it on a machine that doesn't make the kinds of sounds that Saturn makes is probably a good plan. Occasionally, Microsoft will decide that there is a mystical distinction between versions of its operating system, creating a scenario where a new version is the only one with the latest DirectX - what you might call "forward compatibility." But compatibility going the other way is something you don't consider on PCs. The only time I've ever had it become a serious problem was when my computer was now too good. And even that can be ameliorated.

Well I picked up my Google Glass last Sunday and I’ve had a few days to play around with it now. Obviously I’m not super familiar with them yet but I wanted to get my first impressions of them up. I immagine as time goes on and I have the opportunity to use it in different ways, I’ll be sharing more thoughts about Glass.

We've been living with Glass since my co-conspirator returned with it on his brow, and simply by being present it has a warping effect on the social fabric.

For as long as I've been actively watching industry events unfold, I don't think I've we've ever seen anything quite like what happened at Sony's press conference. It was a conflagration that consumed every cubic centimeter of Microsoft's rhetorical oxygen. The damage was so absolute that to speak publicly in defense of the device known as the "Xbone" is to be made a fool. I would avoid the punch at Microsoft's afterparty.

Gunpoint is just... it's very, very well made. And it's very well written also, which is just showing off because the same person did both things. Nobody likes people who are good at everything - nobody likes having people perforate the Meritocracy like this. We like it the other way, where everyone has crazy merit just inherently, wholly independent of performance, output, or attitude. So when somebody strolls in and starts firing divine beams of concentrated potential it's just... I don't know. Don't do that, I guess. It's rude.
